Silence was expected to eliminate my occupation. Instead, it turned into my secret weapon.

“Speak up”

“Voice your concepts”

“Visibility is the most important point for your profession growth”.

These are the lines we would hear on repeat by our university recruitment officers, educating us for the business globe. We were set to be vocal, speak out loud and clear in all meetings, and make sure that we are heard and observed. All great guidance, no question.

During my campus recruitment process, the Seminar was one of the hardest elimination rounds. Promising prospects who topped the capacity and sensible reasoning examinations, aced the technical meetings, only to be removed from the seminar rounds (fondly called GD), all because they were not audible and could not get themselves heard making any type of beneficial payments to the discussion.

I once saw an individual scream over every person in a GD round and obtain chosen. I believe the employers were much more impressed with his lung ability than his logic!

So, Silence = Removal.

I believed it!
